Water Study, Lake District

This painting is of the River Rothay, near Grasmere in the Lake District. The shimmering waters caught my attention from a high path. I used a semi abstract approach for sections of this piece to draw more attention to the water itself. The reaching trees frame the vista and downward branches direct the eye down towards the river.
